Company Profile:

Ancient Peaks (hereafter “Company”) is a family owned winery, showcasing estate varietals from the Margarita Vineyard, which is the only commercial vineyard in the Santa Margarita Ranch AVA of Paso Robles, CA.  It is distinguished by 1 of the coolest, longest growing seasons in the region, together with very unique calcium-infused soil composition created by fossils, which is coveted by winemakers worldwide.  The property is owned by 3 long-time local wine growing and ranching families; the Filipponis, Rossis and Wittstroms.  The wines are crafted under the guidance of Mike Sinor, a local highly-rated winemaking veteran, who produces critically acclaimed, gold medal winning wines, which are embraced nationwide by leading retailers and on-premise accounts.  We have consistently generated double digit sales growth for more than 12 consecutive years, which is a testament to the quality of our wines, strength of our brand and performance of our team. 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of our East Coast Sales Manager, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Specialist will lead our North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington D.C. sales operations.  Specifically, we are seeking a dynamic, experienced professional, with established wine trade relationships across this region and offer the opportunity to join an extremely seasoned national sales team with a strong existing distribution network.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess exemplary organizational, time management, oral and written communication skills and a demonstrable sales track record within the wine industry.  You may be based in any of the above-referenced locations.

Responsibilities:

Assume responsibility for managing the Company’s existing distributor network and generating sales growth;

Interface with established / proposed accounts and sales representatives on a continual basis;

Conduct market visits, as well as scheduling sales appointments for ownership / winemakers visiting the markets;

Represent the Company at trade shows, tastings, wine dinners and special events;

Work closely with our distributor network, manage pricings / programming and provide depletion allowance (DA) support;

Participate and present at all Company sales meetings;

Ability to focus 50% - 60% of working time in the Mid-Atlantic region, while creating flexibility to travel to other territories outside of that region;

Ability to meet annual sales goals set per regional market;

Ability to work independently, while being responsive to company management and ownership.

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of recent wine industry experience including any of the following:  supplier sales, distribution sales, or restaurant buying sales;

Proficient skills within the Microsoft Office suite of products, with a particular focus on Excel and pivot tables; DIVER / VIP sales reporting software;

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level ll and/or Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) certification, required.
