Our client, a trucking company, is seeking a local Dispatcher for its Santa Maria office for the closing shift.  This is a great opportunity with a long-standing family-owned company.  If you are a positive, organized, professional individual and possess the desire to work in a fast-paced, trucking environment, this could be the right opportunity for you!


  • Build relationships with professional truck drivers and be his/her point of contact while on the road;
  • Maintain an attitude of safety with the truck drivers;
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders;
  • Create efficient load plans;
  • Understand Hours of Service rules and possess the ability to properly counsel truck drivers on those rules;
  • Coordinate loading/unloading appointments efficiently;
  • Continue to maintain and strengthen relationships with customers and vendors on an ongoing basis;
  • Communicate professionally, effectively and timely with both internal and external customers and contacts.

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required;
  • Knowledge of produce and/or the trucking industry preferred.

Working Hours:

Monday through Friday from 4:00PM - 12:00 Midnight (closing may be a bit later), plus every 3rd Saturday from 2:00PM - 9:00PM (so 6 days a week every 3rd Saturday).


Hourly pay: $16.00 per hour, plus benefits
